tastyindianbistro.comTasty Indian Bistro is one of Metro Vancouver's most-loved Indian fine-dining destinations, with sub-brands Tasty Indian Kitchen and Tasty Indian Lounge. Evolve led a comprehensive visual identity system built to carry the founder's voice across three service formats and prepare the brand for national expansion.
The Tasty family had built two decades of regional loyalty in Surrey and the Fraser Valley, but the identity had drifted across formats — the fine-dining bistro, the fast-casual kitchen, and the late-night lounge each read as unrelated businesses. Franchise conversations kept stalling because prospective operators couldn't see the parent brand behind the storefronts. The mandate was to build one identity system with format-specific variants, without losing the warmth that regulars associated with the founder's family.
We spent the first eight weeks in the restaurants — with the founders, the chefs, the front-of-house staff — before touching a sketchbook. What emerged was a thesis: Tasty's edge isn't Indian food, it's the amalgamation of North American hospitality with a South Asian kitchen. We built a single visual system around that idea: a confident wordmark, a warm burgundy-and-brass palette that reads as premium at the bistro and approachable at the kitchen, and a photographic language that leaned into faces, hands, and the tandoor rather than styled overhead flat lays. A brand essence film shot on the Red Epic Dragon 6K became the sales tool for catering and franchise conversations. Menu, packaging, uniforms, and delivery collateral were all built as one system with three faces.
A scalable identity system across three formats, a brand film that has been used in every franchise pitch since launch, and a unified visual story that reads as one family of restaurants. Direct catering inquiries via the site grew 62% in the year following launch, and Tasty opened two new locations under the refreshed system.

Comprehensive Brand Visual Identity System for Tasty Indian Bistro and the sub brands (Tasty Indian Kitchen + Tasty Indian Lounge). We identified the best design trends, and smartest long term design investments for the Tasty Indian Bistro brand, when expanding nationally.
Conceptualized by Mr. Avtar Saini, the legendary hotelier from Gujarat (India), Tasty Indian Bistro is the precise answer to authentic Indian hospitality. The decor and experience in all of therestaurants is luxurious and befits the fine dining space. The owners and management regulate a very high standard of “guest” services. Corporate culture and “guest” services is treated with very high regard.
The goal was to amalgamate North American and Indian culture in a way that had never been done before. By shooting film with the Red Epic Dragon 6K, we captured the brand essence and demonstrated a photographic styling that immediately conveys the Tasty experience.
We create brand recognition by emphasizing the sheer quality of services, professionalism, resources, team of expertise, and success acquired by Tasty Indian Bistro. The best way to demonstrate quality is through visually engaging film production. By utilizing state of the art camera technology, editing techniques, colour grading, shot styling and lighting preparation, we achieved a specialized, fine dining, experiential brand video. A brand essence video is highly engaging and effective as a sales tool for sales reps and marketing applications. This also gives a strong value proposition in regards to brand recognition and overall brand appeal amongst the Canadian marketplace.
