Interbrand Best Global Brands 2024: the rebound year
Total value of the top 100 grew 5.7% in 2024 — but a widening gap separates brands building 'arenas' from those defending categories.
Interbrand's Best Global Brands 2024 reported the top 100 brands grew 5.7% in combined value to $3.4T, reversing a slowdown the previous year. Apple, Microsoft and Amazon held the top three positions; LEGO, Ferrari and NVIDIA were the standout risers.
Interbrand's central 2024 thesis: brand growth has become non-linear. Brands that define 'arenas' — broad customer needs that cross traditional categories — grow 2.5× faster than brands that defend a single category.
Practical implication: brand strategy in 2025+ is less about category positioning and more about identifying the largest credible arena a brand can lead, then aligning product, experience and communications around it.
