Summary

J.R. (Jermaine) Lopez, is an angel investor, senior graphic designer, executive producer and web developer based out of Vancouver, B.C. His first job was on X-Men 2 in 2003, as a principle actor. While working with Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and more than 800 crew members on set, J.R. developed an understanding of blockbuster film productions. Over the following year, J.R. would go on to learn from industry leaders in film on a daily basis. After landing a few more key roles in film, television, commercial modelling and other media projects, J.R. decided to undertake more studies in Graphic Communications. It was fascinating to learn about the creation of new comic books, movies and universes that contribute greatly not only to the entertainment world, but culture overall around the world.

“It was amazing working with A-listers as an Actor in movies, but I was more interested in the brand Stan Lee built, and the creation of the Marvel universe.”

J.R. actively studies topics such as User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX), Film Production, Computer Science, Human Biology and History. When J.R. is not boxing, he is reading, studying, running or mentoring through his non-profit evolve x (evolvex.org). For the past several years he has been focused on finance and also investor relations, for a variety of the companies he has partnered in, and incubates.

Now partner in an vertical aquaponics business (public company), a legal technology app, a hospitality app and several other companies, his experience with startups all the way to big brands has become well rounded.
